Brent Hildebrand

Alpine Waste & Recycling
Vice President, Recycling

Brent Hildebrand, Vice President, Recycling, is responsible for developing all aspects of Alpine’s vertically integrated recycling business. He acquires new recycling business and builds operational infrastructure to support that business.

Brent was named to the Colorado Pollution Prevention Advisory Board Assistance Committee in February 2008.  The Commitee is an expert panel designed to advise the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on the administration of almost $3 million in grants to industry and academia for environmental pollution prevention efforts such as waste diversion and recycling.

Brent received the 2009 "Sustainability Champion" award from the Colorado Environmental Partnership and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for his leadership spearheading Alpine’s wide-ranging efforts to promote recycling in Colorado.

As director of sales and marketing for Waste Management RecycleAmerica, he introduced the first single-stream recycling processing plant to the Colorado market, increasing volume to thousands of tons per month within the first two years. He managed a sales force of 25 people in a territory stretching from California to Ohio, and he developed the sales training program for Waste Management that is now used as a standard for the company.

He joined Waste Management from Tri-R Recycling, where he was director of market development. He helped develop Tri-R into the leader in Colorado market share by the time the company was taken over by Waste Management.

Prior to his five years at Tri-R, he was Colorado Marketplace Sales Manager for Browning Ferris Industries (BFI), where he managed, hired, trained and evaluated new and existing sales representatives.

Originally from Tremont, Ill., he attended Illinois State University on a football scholarship, where he received his degree in sociology. He is married with three children, and he spends his spare time hiking, fishing, skiing and coaching his children’s sports teams.
